What started as a commitment to solving a simple problem—drilling through ice efficiently—has evolved into a legacy of innovation that spans generations of ice anglers.
The Beginning
StrikeMaster was founded in the late 1950s with a singular vision: to create ice augers that actually worked in real-world conditions. Our founders were ice anglers themselves who understood the frustration of unreliable equipment when you’re out on frozen lakes in sub-zero temperatures.
From the very first model, we focused on three core principles that still guide us today—power to cut through any ice, speed to get you fishing faster, and lightness to keep you mobile across the frozen landscape.

While many companies talked about innovation, we lived it. In the 1980s, we pioneered lightweight materials that made augers easier to carry without sacrificing cutting power. In the 2000s, we revolutionized blade technology with our proprietary Lazer blade design that stays sharper longer and requires less effort to cut.
Today, we’re at the forefront of electric auger technology with our lithium-powered 24V and 40V models that deliver gas-auger power without the noise, fumes, or maintenance hassles.
